By definition, a law enforcement officer is a government-authorized individual responsible for upholding and enforcing laws, maintaining public safety, protecting people and property, and investigating crimes.
This role typically includes the authority to make arrests, conduct investigations, and carry firearms.
Law enforcement officers work for local, state, or federal agencies and are often required to take an oath to serve and protect their communities while following the legal standards and procedures of their jurisdiction.
BUT, there is more to the men and women who work each day to keep our community safe than the job.
They’re also spouses, parents, grandparents, small business owners, and so much more.
Normal people, just like you and me, but they tend to run towards the problems and put their lives on the line for the good of everyone else.
Bellefontaine Police Chief Chris Marlow sat down for Listen Up! Sunday morning to give a little more details about the job and who he is behind the badge:
Thank you, Chris, for the opportunity to tell your story about who the man behind the badge is.
