The Bellefontaine High School Quiz Bowl team hosted a competition Tuesday evening at BHS.
Bellefontaine battled Indian Lake, Ridgemont, and Pandora-Gilboa.
The Pandora-Gilboa A Team won the match with a record of 5-0.
The Bellefontaine A Team finished second with a record of 4-1.
Jeff Smith led the Chiefs with 62 points per match.
Nolan Core scored 25 points per match.
The Bellefontaine A Team qualified for two national tournaments later this school year – the Small School Nationals in Chicago and the High School Nationals in Atlanta.
The Chiefs feature two quiz bowl teams in ‘24-‘25.
The A Team members are Nolan Core, Jeff Smith, Elliett Lang, Caitlin Haley, and Darby Patton.
The B Team members are Clara Core, Oliver Grandstaff, Brody Miranda, Brenden Murray, and Tristyn Wilson.
Clara Core led her team in scoring with 10 points per match.
Both teams are coached by Cliff Core.
Last year, Bellefontaine advanced to the Small School Nationals.
