Child seriously injured after being hit by SUV

An 8-year-old boy was seriously hurt after being hit by an SUV while riding a tricycle in the street on Saturday afternoon, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened just after 12:20 p.m. on New Street near Canby Street in Quincy.

Deputies say the child entered the street from between two parked cars and was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Traverse driven by Chance Goedde, 43, of Delphos.

According to reports, the tricycle was found lodged in the front bumper of the vehicle.

Before deputies arrived on the scene, the boy had already been transported by Riverside EMS to the landing zone.

He was CareFlighted to Dayton Children’s Hospital with suspected serious injuries- his current condition is unknown.
