The office of the Service-Safety Director, Wes Dodds, recently announced the leaf pickup schedule for Bellefontaine.
Leaves need to be piled in the boulevard, or as close to the street as possible, but not in the street or on the sidewalk. You are asked to not park your vehicle in front of the piles, where the city’s leaf machine cannot get to them.
No other materials such as branches, brush, or trash can be picked up by the leaf machine.
No bags will be accepted.
Schedule:
October 24-26 – north of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street
October 27, 28, and 31 – south of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street
November 1 and 2 – south of Columbus Avenue and west of Main Street
November 3 and 4 – north of Columbus Avenue and west of Main Street
After this schedule is completed, a second round is tentatively scheduled as follows:
November 7-9 – the northeast sector
November 10, 14, and 15 – the southeast sector
November 16 and 17 – the southwest sector
November 18 and 21 – the northwest sector
Remember, by law, the regular refuse collection is not allowed to pick up leaves or any other yard waste.
Per City Ordinance 521.12: No person shall deposit, permit, or allow any grass clippings, shrub, or brush trimmings, flowers, or any material on any street or alley which might wash into or clog any storm sewer.
