Clark State College has been named a 2026 Leader College by Achieving the Dream, a national recognition highlighting the college’s work to expand access to education, improve student success and support economic mobility across the region.

The designation recognizes institutions within the Achieving the Dream network that demonstrate measurable improvements in student outcomes and use data-driven strategies to strengthen programs and services.

Clark State President Jo Alice Blondin said the recognition reflects the college’s commitment to putting students and the community at the center of its work.

“Clark State’s recognition as a Leader College reflects more than data and metrics—it reflects a community-focused approach that empowers students, fuels local careers and drives economic growth across the region,” Blondin said. “We have intentionally built a culture where data drives decision-making and student success is everyone’s responsibility.”

Blondin added that the designation also highlights the dedication of the college’s faculty, staff and students.

“We will continue building on this momentum to strengthen opportunity across the region—ensuring students and employers alike benefit from a college committed to access, achievement and economic mobility,” she said.

Clark State College serves students across multiple campuses in Springfield, Beavercreek, Bellefontaine and Xenia, providing educational opportunities for recent high school graduates, working adults, first-generation college students and individuals looking to start new careers.

The college’s student-success efforts include:

  • Embedding student success strategies throughout the institution, from classroom instruction to advising and workforce training

  • Offering academic and career programs that lead to high-demand careers such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity and public service

  • Providing college-level courses with built-in academic support to help students succeed from the start

  • Partnering with high schools, universities and employers to create smoother pathways from education to employment

  • Offering support services that help students overcome challenges and stay enrolled

  • Expanding workforce training programs that lead to industry-recognized credentials

Clark State leaders say these efforts also help strengthen the regional economy by preparing students for in-demand careers and supporting employers across the area.

Karen A. Stout, president and CEO of Achieving the Dream, said the institutions recognized as Leader Colleges are demonstrating meaningful progress.

“The 2026 Leader Colleges demonstrate sustained commitment and measurable progress in advancing student success,” Stout said. “Their leadership sets a powerful example for colleges across the Achieving the Dream network.”

Clark State officials say they plan to continue expanding programs and partnerships that support both student achievement and workforce development throughout the communities they serve.
