Early Saturday morning, officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department saw Marcus Cobb, 41 of Bellefontaine, in the passenger seat of an SUV traveling on Madriver Street.
The driver, later identified as Teaira Stine, 22 of Bellefontaine, failed to use her turn signal and was stopped by Bellefontaine Police.
Officers knew that Cobb had a warrant for his arrest from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear.
He was ordered out of the vehicle but refused to do so multiple times.
As officers assisted Cobb out of the vehicle, he attempted to flee.
A struggle ensued which included Cobb punching an officer twice in the face and biting another.
Cobb was then tased by officers, who tried to get him to comply with their demands.
After being tased a second time, he then yielded to officers and was placed in handcuffs.
Medics transported Cobb to Mary Rutan Hospital where he admitted to being drunk and that he had smoked marijuana.
He was treated for sustained injuries and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Cobb was lodged on his warrant and charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official business, and two charges of Assault on a Peace Officer.
