Saturday, Bellefontaine police arrested 34-year-old Michael Marotti of Colorado Springs, Colorado, after a traffic stop on North Main Street.
Officers saw Marotti driving a black Honda CR-V while looking at his phone and appearing distracted.
When officers initiated a traffic stop, they noticed Marotti showed several signs of impairment.
He then admitted to having one drink earlier while at a bar.
Marotti agreed to perform field sobriety tests but had difficulty completing them.
He was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).
A breath test showed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.291, more than three times the legal limit.
Marotti was cited and released to a sober driver.
