The Logan County community is coming together to support a beloved retired educator facing life-changing medical challenges.
Dave Cline, a retired art teacher who spent many years at Indian Lake Schools, lost the use of his legs on June 7, 2024, due to a tumor that extended the full length of his spine.
He and his wife, Kim, now reside in West Liberty, where they continue to adjust to a new way of life following his diagnosis.
Recently, an opportunity arose to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van from another family experiencing the same rare spinal condition.
The van would provide safe and independent transportation for Dave and ease the physical burden on Kim, who currently assists him in and out of their vehicle and lifts his heavy wheelchair for every trip.
The cost of the van is $24,500.
More than $3,000 has already been raised overnight thanks to early community support.
Shannon Maier and Journey Living Ministries, based in West Liberty, are spearheading the effort to raise the full amount so the Clines can purchase the van without the need for a loan.
The van would be a game-changer for the Cline family—improving mobility, restoring independence, and relieving the physical and emotional strain of daily transportation challenges.
Those wishing to contribute can donate in the following ways:
- Venmo: @Journey-Living
- Mail: Journey Living Ministries, PO Box 307, West Liberty, OH 43357
The goal is to raise the remaining funds by this weekend before the van is no longer available.
