Republican Congressman Jim Jordan made a stop by the American Legion Harold Kerr Post #173 in Bellefontaine Monday.
A large crowd was on hand for Jordan’s question and answer session which lasted about 45 minutes. A variety of topics was asked, including social media, social security, the energy crisis, mail-in voting, inflation, and border control.
A local retired man spoke to Jordan about living on a fixed income and how costs are increasing like electric bills and then asked the congressman what is being done to combat this issue.
When asked about the energy crisis, Jordan said we need a new president in office to fix the problem.
The topic of social media and “fake news” came up and Jordan said that 99% of social media is run by democrats and that’s the news they want on those platforms.
The purpose of his stop in Bellefontaine was to talk to the people. He says you can’t represent people if you don’t talk to them.
He started the day in Hardin County before visiting Bellefontaine.
Jordan was elected to the House of Representatives back in 2007 and hails from Champaign County.
