The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has released updated information on upcoming and ongoing road construction projects expected to impact travel throughout Champaign County in the coming weeks and months.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead and remain alert while navigating work zones.
Ongoing Construction Projects
- State Route 245 Closure
State Route 245 remains closed between Slate Stone Road and Kennard Kingscreek Road as crews continue vital bridge work. The closure is expected to last through Tuesday, June 11.
Detour: State Route 507 to U.S. 68 to State Route 296 - State Route 29 Lane Restrictions
In Mechanicsburg, State Route 29 is reduced to a single lane between Railroad Street and Alison Road. This resurfacing project will continue through July 2025. Traffic is being managed with a flagging operation. - State Route 4 Lane Restrictions
Also in Mechanicsburg, State Route 4 is down to a single lane between Maple Grove Road and E Sandusky Street for resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through July 2025. - State Route 559 Lane Restrictions
State Route 559 between State Route 29 and Pleasantview Estate is undergoing resurfacing, reducing it to a single lane. The project will continue into July 2025. - SR 507 Lane Restrictions
State Route 507, between U.S. 68 and State Route 245, is experiencing intermittent single-lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. This paving project will last through September.
Upcoming Closures
- State Route 296 Closures
A series of bridge repair projects will close sections of State Route 296 on the following dates:- June 23 – July 10: Closed between Upper Valley Pike and U.S. 68
- June 23 – July 10: Closed between Bates Road and Upper Valley Pike
- August 1 – August 21: Closed again between Upper Valley Pike and U.S. 68
