Bellefontaine High School has proudly named its Seniors of the Month for October: Nolan Core and Lexi Yoder.

Nolan Core, son of Clifton and Sara Core, is an active member of several school activities, including the Band, Orchestra, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Start with Hello Club, and Quiz Bowl. He has achieved notable recognition, receiving the Honda Academic Awards, ABC Awards, and the title of AP Scholar with Honors. In addition to his academic pursuits, Nolan participates in swimming and has earned District Swim and CBC Honors in Swim. When asked what he would do if he were principal for a day, he said, “I would bring in food trucks for lunch.” His favorite school memory is attending Nationals for Quiz Bowl. He credits his Grandpa Hopkins as a significant inspiration and is currently reading *Meditations* by Marcus Aurelius. Nolan advises parents to “give your kids room to learn things for themselves,” and he expresses regret for not participating in Quiz Bowl during his freshman and sophomore years. Looking ahead, he plans to attend college to study pre-med or pharmacy.

Lexi Yoder, daughter of Larry and Heather Yoder, is equally involved in school life. She has been a Varsity Football Cheerleader, a Basketball Cheerleader, and a member of the Competition Cheer squad. Lexi has also participated in Cross Country and Track and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. As Yearbook Editor for three years, she has received multiple accolades, including the Heart of a Chieftain Award for documented service hours and the Mary Rutan Heart of a Chieftain Award for health and physical education. When reflecting on what she would do as principal for a day, she said, “I would have everyone bring in pillows and blankets and project a movie on the football field.” One of her favorite memories is painting her senior parking spot with friends. Lexi draws inspiration from her family, including her mom, dad, nana, and papa. Recently, she has been enjoying poetry. Her advice to parents is to “try to look past grades and performance and focus on what your child needs to succeed.” Lexi regrets worrying about how her opinions and choices might affect others. She plans to attend Columbus State to pursue an associate’s degree in dental hygiene.

Congratulations to Nolan Core and Lexi Yoder for their outstanding achievements and contributions to Bellefontaine High School!
