A West Liberty woman is facing multiple charges after police say she climbed onto the back of a fuel truck while intoxicated Tuesday night.
The West Liberty Police Department reports the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the Shell station on South Detroit Street.
According to investigators, a semi driver said he returned from the store to find 26-year-old Cassidy Cozad climbing the rear ladder of his truck while smoking a cigarette.
The driver told her to get down, warning that her actions could have caused an explosion.
Another witness reported Cozad was “jumping up and down” on the truck and appeared drunk.
When officers arrived, Cozad fled the scene but was later found at her home, where police said she showed several signs of intoxication.
Her child was released into the care of a family member, and Cozad was arrested and booked into the Logan County Jail.
She is charged with endangering children, persistent disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.
