A crash report released Friday morning details a two-vehicle crash that happened Wednesday just before noon in Bellefontaine.
According to Bellefontaine Police, 72-year-old James O’Brien of Rushsylvania was driving a 2026 Honda Passport southbound on South Main Street in the turn lane at Lake Avenue, waiting to turn east onto East Lake Avenue.
At the same time, 76-year-old Jane Willis of Bellefontaine was driving a 2002 Honda CR-V and was stopped on West Lake Avenue at the traffic light, waiting to go eastbound across South Main Street.
Police say O’Brien’s light turned red and Willis’ light turned green.
Willis entered the intersection, and O’Brien struck him as O’Brien attempted to turn after waiting for northbound traffic.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.
O’Brien was cited for a traffic control device violation.
