Construction is officially underway on a new facility at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine.

Crews began moving dirt earlier this week as work started on the school’s new Public Safety Building on campus.

The facility will house programs in Criminal Justice, EMT, and Fire Level 1, giving students expanded opportunities for hands-on, real-world training.

In addition to classroom space, the building will feature a fitness area, locker rooms, and bays for emergency vehicles — all designed to prepare students better to meet the needs of their communities.

School officials say they expect to welcome students into the new space in early 2027.
