Bellefontaine Police witnessed a vehicle early Friday morning making several driving violations as it traveled south on Main Street and initiated a traffic stop when it turned onto Gunntown Road.
The driver of the vehicle, Malissa Davis, 46, of Bellefontaine, appeared intoxicated and admitted to police she had been drinking earlier in the day. When asked, Davis refused field sobriety tests citing a hip injury, and showed signs of intoxication when she stumbled toward the officer’s patrol car.
Police found several different types of prescription drugs – some of which did not belong to Davis – in her car including prescription-strength Ibuprofen, Clonidine, and Caplyta.
Davis was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
She is cited for OVI and 2 counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs. She is also charged with turn signals, improper turning, marked lanes, and speed violations.
