Thursday at the 185th Champaign County Fair brings a full day of livestock competition, special events, youth recognition, and high-powered grandstand entertainment.
The day begins at 8 a.m. with the Open Class Market Lamb Show, followed by the Open Class Breeding Sheep Show in the Woodruff Show Arena. Horse exhibitors will also compete in Open Class Junior Division Horse Contest Classes beginning at 9 a.m.
Fairgoers can continue exploring agriculture through the Ag Innovation Series from 10 to 11 a.m. and again from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Activities Building. The Rabbit BBQ will also be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rabbit Building.
The afternoon features several unique fair favorites. At 1 p.m., the Market Swine Sale takes place in the Swine Arena, while the Dress-a-Cow Contest brings creativity and fun to the Woodruff Show Arena. Fairgoers can also enjoy a Grilled Vegetable Demonstration at the Lions Park Gazebo.
One of Thursday’s biggest youth events begins at 4 p.m. with the King of the Ring Showman of Showman Contest, followed by 4-H Awards recognizing achievements in Poultry, Dairy, and Junior Fair Royalty. The competition brings top showmen together for a showcase of skill and dedication.
The evening shifts to the Grandstand for one of the fair’s most exciting attractions. At 7 p.m., the Full Throttle Monster Truck Show takes over, featuring massive trucks, powerful engines, and thrilling action for fairgoers of all ages.
With livestock shows, special activities, youth recognition, and a high-energy grandstand performance, Thursday promises to be another memorable day at the 185th Champaign County Fair.
