A Lakeview man was arrested early Friday morning following a domestic violence incident involving his mother.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Holly Drive in Lakeview shortly after 2:00 AM after receiving a call from a woman who said her son had assaulted her and damaged her front door.
Upon arrival, deputies noted that the woman appeared intoxicated and had an injury to her nose.
She told officers that her son, Heath Deel, 37, of Lakeview, had broken the glass in the front door and forced his way inside, damaging the door frame.
She also claimed that Deel headbutted her, causing a laceration on her nose.
Deputies located Deel asleep in his bedroom, woken by deputies, then brought to the front porch for questioning.
Deel also appeared intoxicated and had blood on his hand, pants, and shirt.
He then told deputies that his mother had come home intoxicated and slammed the door, breaking the glass.
When questioned, the woman said she “may have” hit Deel in retaliation, but claimed that he caused the initial damage and assault.
Deel was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he is facing one count of domestic violence.
