The DeGraff Villiage Council met in regular session Tuesday evening at the village office.
Mayor Stephanie Orsborne discussed that the upcoming firehouse levy of .5% will be on the May ballot. the levy will be an income tax. Mayor Orsborne explains:
In other village business, the spring has sprung, and village residents can neatly put brush for collection by the village at their curb any day, April 24-28 and the village will be around to collect it between the hours of 7 AM and 3:30 PM.
The village is considering purchasing playground equipment for its parks, from Riverside Logan Schools. Riverside has playground equipment currently up for bid at www.publicsurplus.com.
In ordinances and resolutions, Resolution 2023-21: Transfer monies from the general fund to the water fund was approved and amended on the first and final reading. Said monies will be used for the water loop project.
The council also approved applying for a $20,000 grant with a 10% village match for the police department, to be able to purchase equipment.
In parks, spring clean-up was finished last week, and the frisbee golf equipment is in, and crews will look at installing that for public enjoyment in the few weeks to come.
The next village council meeting is set for May 2 at 7 PM in village hall.
