Collin Deitsch has officially joined the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Mayor Dave Crissman swore in Deitsch Friday afternoon during a ceremony held in the Bellefontaine City Council Chambers, surrounded by family and friends.
Deitsch will next attend the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy, where he will spend five months in training. Classes are scheduled to begin on February 9.
A 2023 graduate of Bellefontaine City Schools, Deitsch continued his education and athletic career at Ashland University, where he played football.
