Friday brings the 185th Champaign County Fair to a thrilling finish with livestock sales, exhibit releases, and one of the fair’s most anticipated grandstand events—the Demolition Derby.
The day begins at 9 a.m. with the Junior Fair Livestock Sales, featuring Market Goats, Market Lambs, Market Steers, Dairy Steers, Dairy Feeders, the Dairy Milk Sale, and Sale Block Advertising. The sale gives fair supporters the opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of Junior Fair exhibitors.
The Ag Innovation Series continues from 10 to 11 a.m. and again from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Activities Building, while horses will be released at 10 a.m. Fair projects displayed in the F&M Bank 4-H Activities Building must also be removed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The afternoon includes the release of Open Class Exhibits from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Grandstand and Michaels Horticulture Buildings. Exhibitors will also finish cleaning out livestock barns, the rabbit barn, and poultry areas.
Horse fans can enjoy the Open Class Speed Show Barrel Racing beginning at 6 p.m. in the Horse Arena.
The week wraps up with the crowd-favorite Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand. Drivers will battle it out in a high-energy competition featuring crashes, excitement, and plenty of action as fairgoers gather for one final night of entertainment.
From celebrating Junior Fair exhibitors during the livestock sales to ending the week with the roar of engines at the Demolition Derby, Friday provides an exciting finale to the 185th Champaign County Fair.
