Monday evening, Bellefontaine Police arrested Frank Dick, 44, of Bellefontaine, for aggravated menacing after they were called to an apartment complex.
Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies and Bellefontaine Police Officers arrived on the 800 block of Heritage Court around 7:30 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a man was possibly armed with a gun or knife.
Once they arrived on the scene, the caller showed officers a photo of the suspect’s vehicle and pointed them toward a nearby townhouse.
Police found the vehicle and detained a man outside, but later discovered he was not the suspect.
Moments later, a second issue was reported at an apartment building just around the corner.
Law enforcement responded and found three men coming out of the building as bystanders pointed them out as being involved.
All three were detained.
A victim told officers that the incident had begun the day before.
On Monday, tensions escalated again when a group showed up to fight.
According to the victim, Dick entered an apartment, refused to leave, and pulled out a knife.
The victim said he feared he might be attacked.
Deputies reviewed video footage provided by the caller, which confirmed the victim’s story.
Dick was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail.
The investigation is still ongoing.
