A Lima man was arrested Monday after a report of reckless driving on U.S. 33, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say a witness reported that a black Chevrolet truck “came flying up behind me and bumped the rear of my car” while traveling westbound.
The witness said the truck was swerving, speeding, and driving recklessly, and that the driver appeared to be passed out at one point.
A second caller confirmed the vehicle description and license plate number.
Deputies located the truck near the Logan/Hardin County line, and it finally stopped just inside Hardin County.
The driver was identified as 23-year-old Braeden McGrady of Lima.
During the stop, deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana and saw several signs of impairment.
McGrady then went on to fail several field sobriety tests.
Deputies also found two rolled marijuana cigarettes, a small bag of marijuana, a plastic straw, and two unused hypodermic needles in his vehicle.
McGrady was taken to the Logan County Jail after his vehicle was towed.
He was issued citations for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI), driving under suspension, and expired registration.
