A traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of a driver on multiple OVI charges.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, just after 4:30 PM, deputies on patrol along U.S 68 saw a northbound vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was clocked traveling 79 mph in a posted 55 mph zone.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Austin Palivec, 47, of Greenville.
Palivec showed several signs of intoxication, and deputies saw multiple alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle, including one open can.
He then failed several field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of OVI.
At the Logan County Jail, Palivec blew a breath test of 0.181, more than twice the legal limit.
Palivec was lodged in the Logan County Jail, where he faces charges of OVI, OVI with a high-tier test result, and speeding.
