A Champaign County man was arrested Saturday morning after deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint on South U.S. Route 68.
Deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of S. U.S. Route 68 around 11:56 a.m. on December 6, 2025. When they arrived, the reporting party told deputies that 37-year-old Kareem Williams had struck them in the face during an argument, leaving a visible red mark.
Deputies located Williams inside the residence, where he was described as irate. Williams told deputies he and the victim had been arguing over finances and other personal issues but denied hitting them.
Due to the injury observed, deputies informed Williams that he was being placed under arrest for domestic violence. He initially refused to cooperate and stated he was not going to jail, but after deputies calmed him, he agreed to be handcuffed.
Williams was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
