According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, two women were arrested Thursday night after they were involved in a drug deal in the Kroger parking lot on South Main Street in Bellefontaine.
Deputies were told the suspects were in a light blue Honda CR-V.
They were nearby when they found the vehicle driving north on South Main and pulled it over.
The driver, Susan Frazier, 47, of Belle Center, and the passenger, Linda Hoskins, 43, of Bellefontaine, seemed very nervous during the stop.
Deputies noticed their hands were shaking, they avoided eye contact, and other behaviors raised suspicion that they were possibly hiding something.
K9 Pyro was called to the scene, and the police dog alerted to drugs in the vehicle.
Deputies then searched the car and found a vial with a powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.
They also found a glass pipe and more suspected crack cocaine.
While being handcuffed, Hoskins told officers that drugs were in her shoe and that Frazier had thrown the items to her before the stop.
Deputies later found the glass pipe hidden in her clothes.
Hoskins also admitted she was a drug user and had been in trouble before.
Both women were arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail.
They’re facing charges of drug possession and tampering with evidence — both felonies.
Frazier is also facing a probation violation.
