A 38-year-old Lakeview man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop in northern Logan County led to multiple charges, including operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI).
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, when deputies saw a silver Toyota Corolla speeding on State Route 235.
Radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling 53 mph in the 45 mph zone.
The vehicle later turned onto Township Road 293, where it was again clocked at 46 mph in a 35.
The driver, identified as Dustin Brown, eventually pulled over—stopping partially in a yard.
During the stop, Brown showed several signs of impairment.
A six-pack of beer was also on the passenger seat, with one bottle missing.
Brown admitted to drinking six beers over several hours and failed field sobriety tests.
It was discovered that Brown’s driver’s license was suspended for non-compliance.
He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused a breath test.
Brown is now facing the following charges:
- OVI (Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence)
- Speeding
- Driving under suspension
- Open container in a motor vehicle
He remains in custody at the Logan County Jail.
