A Lakeview man was taken into custody Friday afternoon after deputies say he assaulted a woman and made threats involving firearms during a domestic dispute.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies were called around 3:15 p.m. to a home on Mohawk Path after 68-year-old John DeBord called in, claiming his girlfriend was throwing items out of the residence.
While deputies were en route, a woman at the same location reported DeBord had assaulted her and threatened to shoot another female.
When law enforcement arrived, they found two women upset and sitting in a locked vehicle.
One woman told deputies that DeBord shoved her in the face and out of a doorway, causing her pain.
The other woman told deputies DeBord had been drinking, was throwing items inside the home, threatened to burn down a shed, and had previously threatened to shoot her.
Deputies say DeBord returned to the property during the investigation.
When approached by law enforcement, he was argumentative and resisted being frisked, but was eventually detained and handcuffed.
Debord was then arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail for assault and disorderly conduct.
Later that evening, a Huntsville man was arrested after he damaged property during a domestic dispute and was later found hiding inside a vacant home.
Deputies were called around 11:25 p.m. to a residence on Findlay Street in Huntsville after reports that 28-year-old Mason Diener was intoxicated, breaking items, and had fled the home.
The victim told deputies that Diener had been upset over his disabled vehicle on U.S. 33 near U.S. 68 and had returned to the residence angry when he couldn’t find his lost phone and vape.
Deputies say he screamed at her, got in her face, and smashed the home’s glass screen door while she was still on the phone with dispatchers.
While searching the area, deputies were unable to find Diener.
Later that night, the victim reported that he was near another residence in Huntsville.
Deputies determined the home had recently been vacated, and the property owners confirmed no one had permission to be inside.
When deputies entered the home, they found Diener lying face down in an enclosed porch area, with a coffee table barricading the door.
After repeated commands, deputies say he eventually complied and was taken into custody.
Diener was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was booked on charges of domestic violence and criminal trespass.
