Champaign County Sheriff’s Deputies were called late Saturday night to a residence on the 7000 block of U.S. Route 36 in Cable following reports that a man had fired a weapon from inside a home.
According to initial reports, 50-year-old Eli Ayars of Urbana was taken into custody at the scene.
He faces multiple charges, including resisting arrest, inducing panic, obstructing official business, and using weapons while intoxicated.
Ayars was transported to the Tri-County Jail.
No injuries were reported, and no further details have been released at this time as the investigation continues.
