A Kenton man was arrested after a domestic violence incident on Friday.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded around 10:50 PM to a home on County Road 152 in East Liberty after receiving a call about a man injured with a hammer.
Deputies arrived to find Austin Jackson-Watkins, 20, leaving the residence.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Inside, deputies found a man sitting on the floor with a head injury.
According to statements from those involved, a verbal argument between a man and a woman escalated when the man allegedly pushed the woman against a wall and grabbed her sweatshirt collar.
Jackson-Watkins, witnessing the assault, reportedly struck the man in the head with a metal hammer to stop the attack.
EMS treated the man at the scene and later transported him to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Jackson-Watkins was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was lodged on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.
Judge Jacob Estes set Jackson-Watkins’ bond at $100,000.
