What began in the fall of 1999 will officially come to an end on Saturday, February 28.
Deputy Paul Finfrock is retiring after more than 25 years of service with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Friday, the office held a reception in his honor.

Over the course of his career, Finfrock served under three different sheriffs, worked alongside dozens of fellow deputies, and was involved in hundreds of arrests.
Known especially for his time on patrol, Finfrock is estimated to have conducted well over a million traffic stops during his decades on the road.

Co-workers describe Finfrock as ornery, quick-witted, and an all-around great guy — someone who brought both experience and personality to every shift.
Despite the long hours and changing demands of the job, colleagues say his dedication to the office and sense of humor never faded.
Finfrock says he plans to take a little time for himself following retirement.
He also reflected on his long career in law enforcement, the changes he’s seen over the years, and the relationships built along the way.
Sheriff Randy Dodds also spoke about Finfrock’s impact on the office, praising his years of service and commitment to the community.
Dodds used the opportunity to remind the public that the sheriff’s office is still looking for quality deputy candidates to join the department.
Finfrock’s final day marks the end of an era for the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, as one of its long-serving deputies steps away from the badge.
