A Xenia man was arrested Monday night for operating a vehicle under the influence after deputies responded to a crash near County Road 38 and State Route 117.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene around 9:15 p.m. for a non-injury crash involving a vehicle that had become stuck while attempting to turn around.
When deputies arrived, they found Jacob Gooding, the driver, and a female passenger.
Deputies say that the woman was intoxicated, stumbling in the roadway before falling into a ditch.
Gooding also showed several signs of impairment and admitted to drinking earlier in the evening.
He then failed several field sobriety tests.
Gooding was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he consented to a breath test, blowing a 0.175—more than twice the legal limit.
He was issued citations for failure to control and OVI, then released to a sober driver.
Gooding will appear in court later this week.
The female was also transported to the jail to wait for a sober driver.
