A man is facing charges after deputies responded to a violent domestic incident in Mechanicsburg Wednesday evening.

Champaign County deputies were dispatched to a home on Pisgah Road, just after 6:40 p.m., for a report of a fight.

When deputies arrived, they found 29-year-old Damien Wallace in the driveway yelling and bleeding from his hand.

Deputies then spoke with another man, who had blood on his face, clothing, and head.

He reported being assaulted multiple times during an argument that escalated throughout the evening.

According to the victim, Wallace became angry after being asked to gather loose chickens and began arguing, then it turned physical.

Wallace allegedly spat on the victim, attempted to punch him, and later followed him outside holding a coffee table.

The victim said he tried to walk away, and Wallace later struck him multiple times with a fishing pole, causing several injuries.

Another witness at the scene said Wallace had also broken a chair and used it to smash a window during the incident.

Wallace admitted to deputies that he had consumed alcohol and argued with the victim.

He was arrested and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and is being charged with Domestic Violence and Assault.
