Bellefontaine Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in the 500 block of Gunntown Road, leading to the arrest of 23-year-old Stephen Stultz, of Bellefontaine, for domestic violence and a probation violation.
Officers were dispatched after the victim reported that Stultz had pushed her and was verbally aggressive.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim visibly upset and confirmed that she wished to press charges against Stultz.
According to Stultz, the altercation began when he asked to use the victim’s address for an apartment application, which she denied.
He claimed this led to an argument, during which he attempted to prevent the victim from yelling in front of a toddler present in the home.
The situation escalated when the victim expressed a desire to go outside, and Stultz claimed she was antagonizing him.
When questioned, he maintained that no physical contact occurred between them.
After gathering statements, officers discovered that Stultz was on probation.
Upon contacting his probation officer, a hold was placed on him.
He was arrested and transported to Logan County Jail.
