Traditionally held at the capital- the ceremony was moved indoors to the rotunda due to the cold temperatures in Washington DC.
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh read the oath of office to Vice President JD Vance.
Chief Justice John Roberts read the oath of office to President Trump.
In President Trump’s speech, he said, “The Golden Age of America begins right now…. January 20, 2025, is Liberation Day!”
Later in his speech, President Trump mentioned that with it being Martin Luther King Jr. Day, “In his honor, we will strive to make his dream a reality. We will make his dream come true. “
