Benjamin Logan’s second-grade students have a new reading buddy—Dottie the therapy dog!
Thanks to a connection between Anne Brienza and second-grade teacher Jackie Thompson, Dottie will be visiting second-grade classrooms weekly to listen to students read, providing a calming and supportive presence as they develop their literacy skills.
Dottie’s first visit was a success, with each child having the opportunity to read to her for a few minutes.
Teachers and students alike are excited to welcome her back in the coming weeks, as she continues to encourage young readers with her gentle and friendly demeanor.
