Hometown Christmas Parade Guidelines

The Hometown Christmas Parade is a family-friendly event designed to be appropriate for all ages, celebrating the spirit of Christmas. The objective is to provide a “magical” night by showcasing the Christmas spirit of our local businesses, schools, organizations, and residents through a parade in downtown Bellefontaine.

Expectations of Parade Participants (Float Entrants):

  • All entries must have a Christmas theme.
  • No use of profanity (written, audible, etc.).
  • No lewd behavior.
  • No live Santa, Mrs. Claus, or Grinch unless specifically authorized (these characters will be provided by the parade organizers).
  • Candy is the only permitted handout during the parade. Per city ordinance, candy must be distributed by hand and not thrown to spectators. No other promotional items, marketing, advertising, pamphlets, or literature may be distributed. Entries should come from Logan County or be associated with Logan County businesses.

For safety reasons, if your group is large, please indicate this on your form. You will be contacted with additional instructions on where to meet prior to the event. Report to your assigned position by 5:30 PM.

Violations:
Entrants who violate any of the above guidelines will not be permitted to enter next year’s parade.

The entry deadline is Wednesday, November 20th—no exceptions. Questions can be directed to the Logan County Chamber & Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership, Attention: Downtown Event Coordinator Maddie Stotler, at 937.599.5121 or via email at [email protected].

In addition to the parade, the Partnership invites local businesses, schools, churches, and organizations to take part in the Carriage and Carols event.

Scheduled for December 13th (5 PM – 8 PM), December 14th (4 PM – 9 PM), and December 15th (3 PM – 6 PM), this event offers a festive opportunity for community involvement.

To secure a caroling time slot, participants can sign up using the digital form HERE, with entries accepted until November 20th.

The Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership looks forward to celebrating the holiday season with the community.

You are invited to help bring joy to Bellefontaine this festive season!
