A 42-year-old man was cited for failing to yield at a railroad crossing Thursday afternoon, leading to a collision with a CSX train just outside of West Mansfield.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on Newton Perkins Road in Union County.
Brandon Peterman, of London, reportedly failed to yield at the crossing and was struck by an oncoming CSX train.
Peterman sustained minor injuries and was transported by Perry Township EMS to Memorial Hospital in Marysville.
The driver of the CSX train was not injured.
The impact bent the rail, and CSX crews remained on scene for several hours, making repairs.
Authorities confirmed Peterman was issued a citation for failure to yield.
The incident remains under investigation.
