Natural Resources Officers identified 26-year-old Andrew Moran from Lima as the operator of the pontoon boat that hit the sea wall during a boating incident at Indian Lake State Park on Saturday.
Moran is facing the following charges:
- 1547.11 Boating Under the Influence
- 1547.10 Failing to report information regarding the crash
- 1547.072 Operating a vessel without maintaining control
- 1501:47-2-05 Operating a vessel without proper look-out
- 1501:46-3-22 Public display or consumption of alcohol in a state park
The charges stem from an incident when Natural Resources Officers were called to Indian Lake State Park Saturday night around 10:45 p.m. to investigate a boating accident. Officers learned a boat had crashed into the sea wall in the area of Chase Avenue, Russells Point. One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The operator of the boat, later identified as Moran, left the scene and was later found at his apartment. There were no injuries reported.
