Just before 2:00 p.m. Saturday, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 33 outside Bellefontaine.
A 2012 Kia Rio, driven westbound in the left lane by 19-year-old Gideon Pigg of Columbus, sideswiped a 2015 white Dodge Ram driven in the right lane by 72-year-old Deborah Miller, also of Columbus.
Deputies reported that Pigg fell asleep at the wheel, and the collision occurred as Miller began to pass him.
Pigg was cited for failure to control.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage, and neither driver was injured.
