Farmers in Ohio, including those in Logan County, now have access to expanded federal assistance following a Secretarial natural disaster designation tied to ongoing drought conditions.
The designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture, through its Farm Service Agency, to extend emergency loans to agricultural producers working to recover from drought-related losses.
These loans may be used to replace essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganize farming operations, or refinance certain eligible debts.
Logan County is included among the contiguous Ohio counties eligible for the program.
Loan applications are reviewed by the Farm Service Agency based on the extent of losses, available security, and the producer’s ability to repay.
The application deadline is August 31, 2026.
Additional resources are available at farmers.gov, where producers can access the Disaster Assistance Discovery Tool, Disaster Assistance-at-a-Glance fact sheet, and the Loan Assistance Tool.
Farmers needing to file a Notice of Loss or seeking more information about available assistance are encouraged to contact their local USDA Service Center.
