A man from Dublin is facing a disorderly conduct charge after allegedly threatening emergency personnel at the U.S. 33 eastbound rest area near Bellefontaine on Saturday night.
Logan County Deputies were called just before 9:30 PM to assist Indian Lake EMS with a patient who had become aggressive during transport.
According to EMS, the man—identified as 57-year-old Todd Pritchard—made threatening and profane statements that caused concern for the crew’s safety.
EMS personnel attempted to de-escalate the situation but ultimately felt it was unsafe to continue care without law enforcement support.
Deputies noted that Pritchard appeared highly intoxicated.
He admitted to consuming a large amount of alcohol and showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and an inability to stand without help.
Pritchard was initially taken to the Logan County Jail, but staff declined to admit him due to his condition.
He was then transported to Mary Rutan Hospital with a deputy accompanying the medic crew to maintain order, and was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
