UPDATE: Early Morning Accident on US 33 Leaves Two Hospitalized

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, just after 1:30 AM Saturday morning, Emily Olvera, 28, of North Lewisburg, was headed eastbound in the westbound fast lane of US 33 when she collided head on with a vehicle operated by Chloe Gross, 18, of Huntsville.

Olvera’s vehicle traveled off the roadway, overturned, and caught fire.

The Gross vehicle traveled off the road, coming to rest near the exit ramp of State Route 540.

She had to be extracted by mechanical means from her vehicle. 

Both women were transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus by Medflight and according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, remain in critical condition.

It’s believed that Olvera was under the influence of drugs/medication or alcohol at the time of the crash.

She was cited for “One Way Highways”. 

The crash remains under investigation.

An early morning crash this morning on US 33 near the SR 540 exit ramp left two victims hospitalized after being flown from the scene.

According to reports, the crash was caused by a wrong-way driver.

The conditions of the victims are unknown at this time.
