Urbana Police responded to a domestic disturbance early Saturday morning at an apartment on the 1000 block of South High Street.
According to police, 23-year-old Omar R. Malcolm Jr., of Springfield, allegedly became physically aggressive during an argument with the mother of their five-month-old infant.
Officers report that after he was outside and the mother had locked the apartment door, Malcolm allegedly punched a window, shattering the glass near where the infant was lying.
He reportedly injured himself during the incident.
Malcolm left the scene before Urbana Police arrived.
Warrants were subsequently issued charging him with domestic violence, child endangerment, and criminal damage.
Tuesday, Malcolm was located in Springfield by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.
He was arrested on the warrants, turned over to Urbana Police, interviewed, booked on the charges, and transported to jail.
