Elderly West Liberty man struck by car in Kroger parking lot

A West Liberty man was struck in the parking lot of Kroger Monday morning just after 10 o’clock.

The Bellefontaine Police Department reports Earl Cushman, 90, was walking with the aid of a walker toward the entrance of the grocery store.

Ronald Zimmerman, 76, of Zanesfield, was trying to find a parking spot and failed to see Cushman and hit him, knocking him to the ground.

At the time of the accident, Cushman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine medics.

Zimmerman was cited for right of way.

The investigation continues.
