Election Day in Ohio: Local issues on the ballot

SHARE NOW

Today is Election Day across Ohio, but there are no statewide issues on the ballot.

Voters will be deciding on local races and measures only.

In Logan County, voters will cast their ballot for or against a 911 consolidation levy, which would fund the creation and operation of a unified 911 system to consolidate dispatch services.

Additionally, several school board races, city council elections, township trustee races, and measures regarding Sunday alcohol sales will appear on local ballots.

Polls across Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Bring a government-issued photo ID, and anyone in line when the polls close at 7:30 p.m. is still entitled to cast a ballot.

Although there are no statewide measures this year, these local elections and issues have a direct impact on communities.

The 911 consolidation levy, if approved, would affect emergency services across Logan County.

School board, council, and township trustee elections shape local governance, budgets, and policy decisions for the coming years.

Measures regarding Sunday alcohol sales also give voters a voice in local business regulations and community standards.

Local elections often see lower turnout than statewide or federal races, making every vote especially important.

Today is the day for residents to make their voices heard on the issues and candidates that affect their communities most directly.

Voters should take the time to review their ballots, make informed decisions, and cast their vote before the polls close at 7:30 p.m.

In Logan County, 3,556 voters cast their ballots before Tuesday.
