On Friday evening around 9:40, an officer from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle pull off the shoulder of the roadway operating its hazard lights near Route 33 and Township Road 99.

As authorities approached the vehicle, a female was identified as Misty Hill, 46.

Hill said that she had run out of gas.

When asked for her identification, authorities observed two empty containers of Fireball Whiskey in her purse.

When asked if she had anything to drink, she replied no. She said the empty bottles in her purse were “from last night.”

Hill informed the officer that she had been driving home to Circleville from her friend’s house in St. Mary’s and denied consuming alcohol while at her friend’s house.

The officer was able to detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her vehicle.

She agreed to field sobriety tests and failed.

Hill was placed under arrest.

She requested the officer retrieve her purse and phone from her vehicle.

In her purse, the officer located a third empty bottle of Fireball Whiskey, as well as one unopened bottle.

Hill was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Two more unopened bottles were located in her purse at the jail.

She submitted a breath test of .144, just under two times the legal limit.

Hill was cited for two counts of OVI and a summons for an open container in a motor vehicle.

This report has been forwarded to the Bellefontaine Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.
