September marks the beginning of the 2024-25 Holland Presents season at the historic Holland Theatre, Logan County’s premier nonprofit, community-supported performing arts venue. This month is packed with a diverse array of events, promising something for everyone.
Broadway in Love – Saturday, September 7, at 7:30 p.m.
The season opens with a spectacular evening featuring Broadway stars Libby Servais and Stephan Stubbins. Known for their roles in “Wicked” and “Mary Poppins,” respectively, this real-life married couple will dazzle with a collection of Broadway’s most enchanting hits, delivering an unforgettable performance filled with songs, laughter, and show-stopping moments.
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner – Saturday, September 14, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, September 15, at 2 p.m.
Local actors from Windmill Productions bring this classic drama to life, exploring themes of love, race, and prejudice with both humor and insight. The play remains as pertinent today as it was when it debuted in the 1960s.
Malachi Jaggers – Thursday, September. 19, at 7:30 p.m.
Experience the unique sounds of modern country with singer-songwriter Malachi Jaggers. His relatable Americana music, inspired by personal experiences, promises to resonate deeply with audiences. This performance is sponsored by Marker Inc.
Haunted Objects LIVE! – Saturday, September 21, at 7:30 p.m.
Join Greg and Dana Newkirk for a spine-chilling exploration of the paranormal. As leading paranormal investigators, the Newkirks will present an interactive session featuring cursed artifacts and possessed objects. VIP tickets include a Meet & Greet with the Newkirks.
Etta May – Thursday, September 26, at 7:30 p.m.
Comedy lovers will enjoy a performance by Etta May, the “Polyester Princess” and winner of the American Comedy Awards “Comic of the Year.” Known for her G-rated, high-energy comedy, May’s show will be preceded by a performance from social media star Carollynn Xavier, the Recovering Californian. This event is sponsored by Jason and Ann Vogel.
The season continues into October with the classic rock vibes of Billy Bob Thornton & the Boxmasters on Oct. 1, a family-friendly performance by Artrageous on October 6, and a free screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s *The Birds* on October 31.
