Sunday morning at 4:30, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Prince Road and Township Road 293 in reference to a vehicle parked in the roadway.

The driver was identified as Brenda Klinger, 57. When asked why she was sitting in the roadway, she stated that she was too impaired to drive. She told authorities she had left her camper because her husband, who had reportedly assaulted her in the past, was being mean, but denied that the incident had gotten physical.

Klinger agreed to perform field sobriety tests and failed.

She was placed under arrest and seated in a patrol car. When prompted, she told the authorities that there was a firearm located in her vehicle. The gun, a loaded CZ 2075 D Rami, was recovered, and Klinger was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she refused to submit to a breath test.

Klinger was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and physical control of a motor vehicle while impaired.
