The 200 block of Charles Street in Belle Center was closed Friday afternoon due to a house fire. Crews were called to the scene around 2 p.m.
Multiple departments responded, including the Bellefontaine, Richland Township, Huntsville, Ridgeway, and Roundhead Fire Departments, as well as BMRT Ambulance and Kenton Professional Firefighters Local 563.
Then, shortly before 4 p.m., the Bellefontaine Fire Department was called to a home in the 500 block of West Columbus Avenue.
Dispatch reported the occupants saw a room filling with smoke.
When crews arrived at the two-story residence, nothing was visible from outside, but firefighters discovered a burned electrical plug in a second-floor bedroom.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
The cause of the Belle Center fire remains under investigation.
