Firefighters respond to early-morning car fire on State Route 235

Early Tuesday morning, the Christiansburg Fire Company responded to a fully involved car fire near the 5000 block of State Route 235 at approximately 3:24 a.m.

The Christiansburg crew was assisted by the St. Paris Fire Department, whose team helped extinguish the fire. Firefighters spent roughly 45 minutes on the scene, bringing the blaze under control.

The Champaign County Sheriff’s Deputies closed the road during firefighting efforts and have since taken over the investigation. The make and model of the vehicle remain unknown, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The Christiansburg Fire Company expressed gratitude to the St. Paris crew for their assistance and to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office for managing traffic and conducting the investigation.
